Talia
has been working with ceramics for the past 18 years focusing mostly on
hand building.
After
attending several courses both locally and abroad, and realising that she
could express herself so freely in this medium, she decided to take
pottery more seriously and set up her own studio in her home.
Working
with different clays, earthenware, stoneware and lately porcelain, allows
her to experiment with a variety of glazes. Talia often partly glazes her
pieces as she likes the rough texture of the clay against the smooth
glazes.
Although her work
covers a variety of subjects, most of her 'one off' pieces often reflect
feelings from a situation at that moment in her life.
What inspires Talia
mostly is the coastal waters around Malta and Gozo, the rock formation
and colours both above and below the sea.
Over the years she
has taken part in several exhibitions.
